FAQ for parents

Once we confirm your identity and consent, we will grant you access. The database includes the donor’s date of birth, graduate school, degree, diploma, appearance, video, genetic report and medical report. This information is confidential and cannot be shared with third parties. If you need more information about the donor, you can contact our case manager team for support.

Most Chinese egg donors are from Taiwan, but some are from the United States, China, or other countries. We will arrange for them to undergo local medical examinations to ensure they are healthy and ready to donate eggs.

The egg donation process typically takes 1 to 3 months, depending on the medical clearance of the egg donor and sperm partner. Here is a breakdown of the timeline:

1. Match (variable)

Once approved, the donor is matched with the recipient or chosen by the intended parents. Matching times vary depending on the case and the recipient’s needs.

2. Physical examination (1-4 weeks)

Screening: This involves medical, psychological, and genetic testing and can take several weeks to complete. Choosing an experienced egg donor with a genetic report and egg retrieval report will expedite the process.

3. Ovarian stimulation (2-4 weeks)

Baseline testing: Donors undergo blood tests and ultrasounds to confirm they are ready to start.

Hormone injections: The donor injects herself with hormones for about 10-14 days to stimulate her ovaries to produce multiple eggs.

Monitoring: Regular visits (every few days) to the clinic for blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor progress.

4. Egg retrieval (1 day)

Egg retrieval is a minor procedure performed under sedation. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes, but the donor usually needs a day or two to fully recover.

5. Follow-up (1-2 weeks)

The donor may have follow-up appointments to make sure they are healing well after the retrieval.

While the active donation phase (hormone stimulation and recovery) takes about a month, the entire process from application to completion can take 2 to 3 months.

We work very carefully with intended parents, arranging payments in three stages to ease your financial burden, and charging fees based on the egg donor’s progress.
