Pairing process
Step 1 – Arrange an online video consultation
Once you’re considering a Chinese egg donor, you can schedule an initial online consultation with Global Egg Donor. We’ll need to discuss your reasons for egg donation, the number of eggs/embryos you require, your gender preference, any sperm genetics data, and whether you’d like to schedule a sperm retrieval on the same day as the egg donor.
After this consultation, we will provide you with the egg donor profile we are looking for so you can decide if you would like to be matched with one of our egg donors. The egg donor profile includes the following information: birth height, education level, family history of genetic diseases, photograph, childhood photos, egg retrieval report, medical examination reports, educational certificates, and videos.
We will update the egg donors from time to time. You can join our newsletter and we will proactively notify you of new egg donors.
Step 2 – Select an egg donor and sign the contract
Once you have selected your egg donor match, we will arrange separate consent agreements for the intended parents and the egg donor to confirm that both parties understand their respective obligations and rights.
After the contract is signed, the intended parents need to pay the agency fee, legal fees and donor local screening fee within 7 working days to book the egg donor.
Step 3 – Local Medical Examination
Once we receive your confirmation, our Global Egg Donor team will contact your fertility clinic and doctor.
During this period, egg donors will receive the latest screening tests provided by the doctor (AMH, ultrasound, chromosome testing, genetic testing, STI testing, drug abuse screening, etc.).
Egg donors must first complete a preliminary screening at a local clinic and upload the report to the IVF doctor.
Step 4 – Fly to the IVF clinic and synchronize the cycle
After passing the medical screening, the egg donor will take birth control pills for 10-14 days and fly to the IVF clinic of choice.
After the egg donor arrives at the IVF clinic, Global Egg Donor will supervise the egg donor to follow the doctor’s instructions, take the ovulation-stimulating injection on time, and monitor the egg donor’s subsequent examinations and the time of egg stimulation injection to ensure the quality of follicle growth.
The egg donor must undergo an abdominal injection of ovulation-stimulating medication for approximately 8-14 days, as determined by the doctor. This will allow the egg donor and surrogate to synchronize their cycles for maximum egg viability.
Step 5 – Egg and sperm retrieval
Some cycles require fresh embryos with a donor egg and sperm. The hospital performs a minimally invasive egg retrieval procedure to retrieve the donor eggs, and on the same day, the male partner or sperm donor provides semen for fertilization.
Step 6 – IVF
After the eggs and sperm are retrieved, the hospital embryologist will begin the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process.
IVF is the fertilization process that combines an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish.
When the in vitro fertilization procedure is successful, you will need to wait for more than 3-5 days to see the results of the fertilized egg hatching. The prospective parents will decide whether to transplant the embryo into the surrogate mother’s uterus.
Step 7 – Pregnancy Test
About two weeks after the embryo transfer, a pregnancy test will be performed. Hopefully, the IVF treatment will be successful, and your family and the surrogate mother will be looking forward to welcoming a new member into your family!
