🇺🇸 U.S. Egg Donation: Frozen Egg Bank vs. Fresh Match

In the United States, egg donation is divided into two main typesfrozen egg bank donation and fresh matching donation.

🧊 Frozen Egg Bank Donation

This means the American fertility clinic believes your eggs are of high quality and will likely be selected by intended parents later.
You’ll first undergo the required medical examinations, and your eggs will then be frozen and stored. When a couple chooses your profile, the eggs can be immediately thawed for IVF, without waiting for your next cycle.
Advantage: Both the donor and intended parents can proceed without delay — minimizing waiting time and risks.

🌸 Fresh Matching Donation

In this case, the donor will wait until a couple chooses her, and only then will the medical check-ups and treatment process begin.
The compensation (allowance) depends on the intended parents’ budget — usually USD 9,000 to 12,000 per cycle.

💉 U.S. Egg Donation Medical Check-Up Fees

In most cases, the egg donation center covers all medical costs.
However, because many donors in Taiwan previously canceled after completing their tests — causing financial losses for U.S. clinics — donors are now asked to prepay the initial medical check-up costs (about NT$16,000, covering roughly 5 appointments over 1–2 months).

🧾 The checkups include:

  • Ultrasound and egg quality scan

  • Genetic testing

  • Chromosome testing

  • STD and infectious disease screening

  • Drug, nicotine, and alcohol tests

Refund policy:

  • ✅ If you fail the screening → Full refund.

  • ✅ If approved → The clinic will pay for your airfare and accommodation in the U.S.

  • ❌ If you cancel after approval → The prepaid fee cannot be refunded.

Global Egg Donor cooperates only with legally licensed and reputable U.S. IVF, surrogacy, and egg donation centers — with no hidden or intermediary fees.
All U.S. transportation, meals, and lodging during the medical period are covered by the clinic.

⏰ U.S. Egg Donation Timeline

  • The ESTA visa allows a 90-day stay in the U.S.

  • Each donation cycle typically requires 14–16 days of stay.

  • You’ll rest for one menstrual cycle (about one month) before donating again.

If you wish to stay between cycles:

  • ✈️ You may travel around the U.S., or

  • 🏡 Choose to stay in our nurse’s residence for about USD 600/month, including accommodation.

💰 Compensation by type:

  • Frozen egg donation: USD 8,000 (first-timers), USD 9,000 (experienced donors)

  • Fresh match donation: USD 10,000–20,000 (depending on donor profile and parents’ budget)

🩺 Medical Insurance

During your donation cycle, the clinic provides medical insurance coverage for any procedure-related issues.

However:

  • ❌ General illnesses, COVID infections, or unrelated medical treatments are not covered.

  • ❌ Post-return quarantine costs in Taiwan are not included.

After egg retrieval, you’ll stay for 3–5 days of recovery monitoring.
If you feel unwell, the clinic will provide medication to ease discomfort such as dizziness or bloating.

U.S. doctors are extremely cautious with medication and will only approve your return flight once your post-surgery condition is stable.
Overall, post-procedure side effects are rare and do not affect future fertility.

🕒 Total time required in the U.S.: 14–16 days (including recovery).
